Slack Channel

Rolling out Slack is actively shipping. The behavior documented here is the launch contract and may change before general availability.

The Slack channel delivers reminder and escalation notifications as direct messages from the Pidgr app in your workspace. Like every channel, it is notification-only: the DM carries the recipient’s first name and a deeplink — campaign content never leaves Pidgr.

Hi Ana — you have a pending action in Pidgr: "Q3 Security Policy".

Slack is linked once per workspace by an admin, not per user:

  1. A workspace admin starts the install from the Pidgr admin dashboard (Integrations → Slack → Connect workspace).
  2. Pidgr uses the standard Slack OAuth v2 flow with a minimal scope set: chat:write, users:read, users:read.email, im:write.
  3. After install, Pidgr matches workspace members to Pidgr users by email address — a user whose Slack email matches their Pidgr directory email is reachable automatically.

During the rollout phase the Pidgr Slack app is installed via a direct (unlisted) install link provided in the admin dashboard; a Slack App Directory listing follows later.

Once an organization connects its workspace, Slack notifications apply to all matched users — like Email, Slack is treated as a workforce compliance channel. Users who don’t want Slack DMs should raise it with their admin; disconnecting is org-level.

  1. Open the admin dashboard → IntegrationsSlack.
  2. Click Connect workspace and complete the Slack OAuth consent as a workspace admin.
  3. In the workflow editor, add Slack to the notification options of any reminder or escalation step.
  4. Check the reachability count in the dashboard — users whose Slack email doesn’t match their Pidgr email are listed as unmatched.
  • DMs only — Pidgr never posts to channels; every notification is a one-to-one DM from the app.
  • Unmatched users are skipped silently — the step falls through to the other configured channels.
  • Workspace revocation — uninstalling the Pidgr app from Slack immediately stops all sends; Pidgr marks the channel unconfigured.
